New Cd

I finally began work on my new CD. It took me about a year to write and compile the songs on it. Most were written this year. A couple others were written a in the past. The Title song STORIES OF OUR LIVES was written over 15 years ago. It was used in one of my old bands. Then it sat around for many years. I gave it a bit of a tune up, and have been using it again for the last two years. STORIES OF OUR LIVES is a fitting title. I am,after all,a singer songwriter. I like to think my songs tell stories. The title song is in itself a story of political corruption ,but it serves the purpose of capsulizing the whole collection i am presenting.

The song I recorded today is called MOUNTAINS GLOW. It is an instrumental song that I deceided to record as I relearn my recording equipment. The story in this song is entirely in the listeners imagination. It has rythem guitar, lead guitar, and mandolin.

This CD is intended to be quite basic. There are overdubs but no fancy tricks for sure. They are simply the basic way I imagine them. Most of them will be exactly how I perform them . A singer and his guitar.

I recorded THE DEVIL DONT WANT ANY LOOSE ENDS. Its another of my gunfighting songs. A song about a desperate situation. Its basically aabout a couple guys waiting in an otherwise empty bar for an all out battle. The final scene from the Shootist comes to mind as an example of what this song is about. Its not a time for fooling around. Not a place for "choir boys"
